Love Is The Answer

Here's the answer: Jesus said the two greatest commandments are to love God and to love your neighbor. If we love God, in our love we will naturally do what is right. If we love our neighbor, we will do what is right.

Some ask, why is there so much evil in the world? How can God let orphans starve? How can God let hurricanes kill so many and destroy so much? The answer is that it's not God who is doing this, it is us. If we truly loved the orphans we would feed them, care for them, adopt them--we have the ability to do that. Our love can't change the weather, but we can help people have better homes, better infrastructure and be better able to withstand violent weather. It just takes money and our time and our God-given gifts. In America, do we really need all the stuff we have? All the things we spend our money on? If we really did love God and each other, wouldn't we be spending our money and time on God and each other?
