What Is The Answer?

Starting two weeks ago I mentioned several things -- prayer, faith, love -- as though each of those alone was the answer to solving the problems our culture brings to us. I mentioned each as though each was the exclusive answer. There were several others I wanted to mention, such as service to others (social justice), holiness and reading the scripture. It is true that each of these will solve problems brought about by our culture. But the complete solution is the complete church--all of us.

Some people have been given the gift of prayer, for example, and that is their focus and God's will. Others are given the gift of service. For some, their gift is to be employed and support the gifts of others through their financial contributions. Some people are gifted in several areas. All together we are the church. The church has an eternal purpose (read Ephesians), but it also has a purpose here, now, on earth.
